Windows 6.5 and Windows 6 Telstra rom for Jasjam
We have managed to cook windows 6.5 for Jasjam(thanks to tools i downloaded from XDA developers). The link for same is provided below
http://www.easy-share.com/1907768797/jasjam windows 6.5.zip
This is a cooked rom and will void your warranty. We will not be responsible for damage done to device due to this ,though if you face any issues ,we will provide email assistance..
Download the compressed file and extract it and save it in your computer
Before you run the ROM Upgrade Utility (RUU), make sure you check and do the following first:
1. USB sync cable is connected to the computer.
2. The standby and hibernation modes are disabled on the computer.
3. All running applications on the computer have been closed.
4. USB sync cable is connected to the Mobile Device to establish an ActiveSync connection with the computer.
5. Do not interact with your Mobile Device unless instructed to do so.
You will find ROM upgradation kit.Run it and follow the steps. This will first take the device into bootloader mode and it will automatically push Des's SSPL to your phone (As i said before thanks to XDA Developer for this as this downloaded upgrade consists of a ROM upgrade Utility made by Olipro in XDA developers)
It will then load the nbh file you will find in downloaded files which is the one i have cooked specifically for Jasjam. If the above lines confuse you forget them and just run the rom upgradation kit and patiently follow the steps for next 20 minutes.
The result will be sweeter, you will have windows 6.5......is,nt that great......
Now if you don,t wanna take the risk, the official rom for windows 5 is available at their website, however i have managed to get hold of windows 6 rom for telstra users which i have uploaded in link below.
http://www.easy-share.com/1907769213/RUU_Hermes_DL_UK_3.62.305.5_6275_1.54.30.10_108_Ship.exe
Download it and run it in similar way. This rom consists of few extra feature to make it easier for you to connect it to Telstra WAP sites. If you do not live in Australia and want the official windows rom ...wait I am in a process to extract the extra Telstra stuff and get the official windows 6 rom for you....
You face any issues with these ROM i will help you out, just mail me at sashaelectronics@hotmail.com

Hardware buttons for Jasjam
There are some hardware buttons that Jasjam users are not normally aware. These buttons are also same for other devices mentioned which are Jasjam alike .Have a look at them ,they will come handy
Cycle through mail accounts
If you keep on pressing the Envelope (messaging) hardware button it cycles the Outlook Mail, Text messages, Hotmail, MMS accounts. Really nice since you do not need to hit the menu button. Pressing left/Right on the d-pad does this too.
Screen alignment
For all the Jasjam users having the alignment issues, the D-Pad and messaging key combo goes straight to screen calibration tool.Press the D-Pad first follow by Messaging key.
Scrolling Contacts without Stylus
When in 'Contacts' hold down ‘down’ on the dpad. It'll start scrolling the list for approx 5 seconds, then a 'pop up window' appears with a large letter A. Use the dpad to select appropriate contact start letter. Makes it easier to scroll through the contacts without having to get the stylus out. Unfortunately, if you have a large number of contacts, you can never hold down the scroll button to get to the end of your particular letter. Not so nice. :/
Slick One-Handed Navigation on the Today Screen
Using the OK button directly below the Scroll Wheel while on the Today Screen will open the Start Menu. This makes it extremely easy to navigate and launch applications with just your thumb -- press OK, Scroll, and Scroll-click to select!
Jump to the Today screen.
When in any app, you can press the start hardware button twice to take you back to the today screen. The Call Hangup button also performs this task. But watch out during a call since it will end your call instead of taking you to the today screen!
Silence an incoming call.
When you have an incoming call and don't want to answer it and the ringing annoys you, scroll the side wheel down. This lets the incoming call continue but mutes the ringtone. . This may not work with third-party ringtone apps
Recent phone calls list with scroll wheel.
In the phone application, click Up or Right on the D-pad OR scroll up with the scroll wheel. Select a call with the scroll wheel and click the wheel in to dial that number.
Speed dial shortcut.
In the phone application, click Down or Left on the D-pad OR scroll down with the scroll wheel. Select a call with the scroll wheel and click the wheel in to dial that number.
Disconnect from GPRS.
When you have a GPRS connection, press and hold the red phone button for two seconds.
Transfer call sound to speaker
When in answering or in a call hold down the green phone button for a few seconds and sound will be transfered to the external speaker.
Shut down device completely
When the phone is on, press and hold the power button for about 5 seconds, until a message pops up "Power will be turned off... Do you want to continue?". Click Yes to shut down the phone.
Silence the phone volume
Press and hold the comm manager button for 2 seconds and the phone sounds and ringer volume will be set to vibrate. Repeat process to turn sounds back on. UPDATE: if the above method does not work for you, try to scroll the jog button down.
Jasjam Troubleshooting :Part 2
2.) Connection Issues
To configure Data /GPRS connection.
Other than configuring manually for which steps you can find in the manual,we rather advise you to download configurator provided by Imate and install it in device. The settings will be automatically configured by the software
*Sometimes in Jasjam specially for those in Australia having Telstra rom ,you need to disable the telstra proxy to get GPRS/DATA connection problem.
Start>programs>telstra Proxy or Proxy Manager
Disable it and Voila your internet will be working
To Terminate a Data/GPRS session
- To temporally stop: Press and hold the Red button hang up key for about 3-5 seconds
- Permanently stop: go to Start, Settings, Connections, Connections icon. Advanced tab. Click on Select networks. Change both to say Work Network. Click on edit and make sure that no t have been set.
3.) ActiveSync Issues
- JASJAM syncing problems
One trick to try is to go to Start > Settings and then Connections. Then click on USB to PC and unselect use advanced networking features. Now plug the phone back in and try re-syncing.
- Active Sync keeps Saying connecting
common cause is firewalls and pc issues, this is not supported , try disabling all firewalls and antivirus programs (turn back on after testing) then plug the phone back in and try re-syncing.
.You still face any issues after trying above steps, don,t panic ,just mail me at sashaelectronics@hotmail.com and i will help you out
